We stayed here 2 nights, Il Faro is a lovely colonial style villa and the first night we ate inside the restaurant which is elegant and classic Italian with tables draped in black and white matching the black and white marble floor. There is a transparent wine cellar stocked with Italian and French wines. We ordered a bottle of Chianti to go with our fresh pasta dish of garganelli and duck coated in mustard, parmasan and black pepper, which was out of this world.
The following day we opted for lunch in the shady courtyard, full of sun umrellas and fruit trees, feeling greedy I finished up with a chocolate ganesh with mint leaves, an amazing sweet of caramel flakes, smooth chocolate mousse with a spun sugar coating.
The Italian and Vietnamese staff were very kind and made us feel special. The room we stayed in was very nice, it had the old world colonial flavour and elegance coupled with a super modern tiled shower room en suite and the bedroom was simple and elegant with crisp white bed linen and antique eastern furniture and a comfy sitting area. After the hustle and bustle of down town Hanoi, we were glad to retreat to Il Faro for some Rest and Relaxation.
